All About Brennan...Hi! My name, of course, is Brennan! Brennan Palmiter. I'm 12 years old and I'm a Go-kart racer from Ormond Beach, Florida. Ormond Beach is just north of Daytona Beach, the racing capitol of the world!
The next year I moved up a class and started racing in Sportsman I - purple plate. I finished first in points for the year. I won 3 times and I came in second a bunch of times. We also tried a couple of state races with WKA. That was really exciting, and boy do they race! Then, in 2001, my Crew Chief concentrated on learning more about the set up while I got some more "seat time". At each race we worked on something new and we keep getting better and better! We won a lot of races (check out my Race Results 2001 page) and made a lot of friends. In 2002 I raced all the FKA State and WKA State & National Races. I sure learned a lot and I finished up pretty good too! Check out my Race Results 2002 page and see.Last year I had to move up to Sportsman II in the sprint kart and I started racing a new kart called a Jr. Sportsman Champ. I raced in the WKA Florida Dirt Divisional Series and the WKA Nationals. It was a real challenge and I learned a lot. Check out my Race Results 2003 page to see how I finished up for the season. This year is my last year in Jr. Sportsman II and Jr. Sportsman Champ. We've had our share of struggles but so far I'm doing pretty good. I've won a few times, one of them was a national race! Check out my results page and see how we are doing! |

Other stuff I like to doI love to swim, fish, ride my bike and my skate board, and play X-Box like the other kids do but lately I've been speading a lot of my free time working odd jobs to save up money. You see, I've been thinking about when I'll be able to drive a car and when I get my license I want to buy an El Camino. It's going to have a really cool paint job and some awesome wheels and tires. I guess that's all I think think about anymore, except for racing that is.Instead of going to Middle School last year my dad thought we would try home schooling. We call it "Robert's Racing School" but it's really studying at home on the computer. I get up each morning just like I did before but, instead of riding my bike to school, I walk into the guest room and turn on the computer! My assignments are scheduled on Monday through Thursday. Each day I work through each one until I get them all done. By Friday my work is all done so I'm free to go racing! So far I like it a lot and I don't miss the big school at all. |
My crew chief and I talk a lot about racing other kinds of cars. I can't wait until I'm old enough to race a real race car. I think open wheel modified are pretty cool. Someday I'd like to race Craftsman Trucks. If I don't do that, I love animals so I think I might be a veterinarian or zoo keeper or something like that. I already have a dog named Candy and a Gecko named Gizmo. I used to have a turtle named Spanky that I got when I was 5 but it got too big so I had to let it go.
One of the things I've learned about racing is that you have to earn the respect of the other racers by driving them fairly and, if another driver wants to drive you dirty, you have to do what you have to do to protect your position. That was sort of hard for me to figure out because I thought that the officials should make things right but they usually don't. I guess that's what they mean when they say "you have to make your own luck".
I've also learned that racing isn't just about whats going on out on the track. I'm meeting some new kids that are coming into the sport where I was a couple of years ago and I enjoy helping them race better almost as much as I do racing myself.
I hope you enjoy my site and come back often. Write an e-mail to me or something. That way I'll know that you were here, OK?
Thanks for stopping by!
